Bridge Interactive announces updates to modern real estate API
New Bridge API release, ParityPlus, combines all the functionality of RETS with the simplicity of an API, enabling more innovation SEATTLE, July 12, 2018 -- Bridge Interactive, a technology company focused on helping real estate brokers, MLSs, agents and software developers innovate more rapidly with real estate data, today announced a milestone release to its Bridge API, called ParityPlus, that brings all the functionality currently found in RETS to Bridge's well-documented web API. ParityPlus is a significant release because it combines what many MLSs value about the older industry standard, RETS - customization, most notably - with the speed, familiarity and scalability of a modern Web API. The net effect will be to increase the ease with which real estate data is distributed, secured, shared and built upon. For MLSs, that means Bridge API now will enable them to build custom data feeds and more tightly define what information is conveyed to specific data recipients. It will also add functionality that gives them more control and fewer limitations. With ParityPlus, Bridge tasked its team of developers to bring all the functionality found in RETS to Bridge API, and add even more on top of it. "We're excited about the new Bridge API release because the industry now has all the functionality they formerly were used to getting with RETS and combines it with the modern simplicity of an API," said Turan Tekin, Director of MLS and Industry Development at Zillow® Group. "The industry now has a meaningful choice as to which RESO transport will best help create better tools." RESO, which stands for Real Estate Standards Organization, is a nonprofit standards organization focused on real estate data standards and processes. "Bridge is a staunch supporter, leader and advocate of RESO industry standards, and we applaud the innovation and enhancements they've brought to their RESO Web API tool," said Jeremy Crawford, CEO of RESO. "As the first to receive Platinum certification, Bridge has demonstrated to the industry the value of RESO and how new features can add real power to their API. Progress like this helps drive API adoption, and as Bridge continues to innovate, we hope it will encourage others to do the same." Bridge API now allows MLSs to: Control data feeds with the same level of granularity they are accustomed to with traditional RETS feeds Easily customize the way they approve data access Have unlimited field payloads, including custom/native fields beyond RESO Data Dictionary See exactly what data has been mapped for API consumption Combine any number of field conditions to specify which records the user has access to Suppress any field values, based on condition (e.g., if status is pending, hide these fields) Customize any restrictions on an application by application basis Give end users transparency into how their data access has been configured, so they know what data they can access Control whether an end user is only allowed to query data on the fly, or perform complete dataset replication The updates to Bridge API represent a significant milestone in real estate development, marking a movement away from RETS and toward more modern, web APIs. If you're interested in learning more about the new Bridge API features, visit us at Zillow Group's Inman Connect San Francisco booth July 17-20. RESO Offers Free Web API Tools to Enable Rapid Real Estate Software Development
Raleigh NC – Monday, March 13, 2017 – Real estate software developers will now be able to more rapidly deploy real estate software with the just released Web API client tool now available for free from the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO). Developed by RESO specifically for connecting to the hundreds of MLSs nationwide that have implemented RESO API Standards, the free software package includes the Web API client application itself, as well as the source code for the open source client software. "This marks the first in-house development by RESO of desktop client applications written with reusable code libraries that will help expedite the adoption, deployment and utilization of the real estate data in real-time," says Jeremy Crawford, CEO of RESO. Crawford noted that in the past, outside technology firms developed client software for accessing real estate data through RESO Standards. RESO's new in-house developed software capability adds significantly to the value of RESO membership and benefits the industry as a whole. "We've responded by providing what many RESO members have told us they need in order to develop and deploy real estate software that is dependent on real-time property data," adds Crawford. He explains that the new RESO Web API Reference Client is a desktop application written with reusable code libraries using .NET C# that allows rapid development of API client applications connecting to data sources leveraging RESO standards. There are multiple packages available, each including the full source code and the stand alone Reference Client that implements the code libraries. The different stand-alone code libraries can be used for rapid development in a custom application. The new offering from RESO is designed to save a software developer from dealing with the RESO Web API Specification and underlying OData, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect protocol details. By providing the client library pre-packaged and essentially a "plug and play" solution, it allows the application writer for the software to concentrate on the development of their application – instead of the underlying transport protocol. "That," adds Crawford, "saves the real estate technology developer time and money in the process." Crawford noted that RESO is committed to the evolution of RESO provided client software. "We invite community feedback as well as developer participation in our GitHub repository as this will help us consider future revisions and enhancements to client software to support our evolving RESO Web API Specifications and the needs of the development community in the industry," he added. About RESO The mission of the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) is to create and promote the adoption of standards that drive efficiency throughout the real estate industry. RESO incorporated in November 2011, as an independent, not-for-profit trade organization that was previously a section of the National Association of REALTORS®. Indunia.com announces the first Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) based data dictionary for the Indian Real Estate ecosystem
MANHASSET HILLS, N.Y., Oct. 29, 2015 -- Indunia.com, the big data and cognitive reasoning powered real estate marketplace for India, today announced the first Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) based Data Dictionary for the Indian Real Estate ecosystem. The company said the wide adoption of the RESO Data Dictionary will revolutionize the Indian real estate ecosystem, improving time to market, reducing cost, improving data accuracy, reliability and transparency as well as accelerate innovation. "The global sharing of RESO Data Dictionary standards that were built for U.S. and Canada now being adopted in the India market is a stunning breakthrough," said Jeremy Crawford, Executive Director, Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO). "The fact that RESO standards are traversing continents exemplifies how good our standards are. They are being adopted solely on the basis of their value to help improve real estate transactions. These efforts also solidify how the RESO Data Dictionary can help foster innovation worldwide," Crawford added. The adoption of the new RESO standards is designed to provide a level real estate playing field for everyone involved as the Indian Digital Real Estate is undergoing significant growing pains. Currently the same real estate data is unnecessarily being reprocessed multiple times by developers, brokers, listing sites and others in the real estate value chain; inventory remains in various formats, digital and non-digital, waiting to be processed into a transferable and usable format. The Indunia.com data standardization initiative, based on RESO data dictionary, will help transform the industry to overcome these challenges as everyone in the real estate eco-system will speak the same real estate language. "Real Estate Big Data standardization will be critical for successful growth of affordable housing, REITS, and Smart Cities", said Matt Kumar, co-founder of indunia.com and President and CEO of Software Incubator Inc. USA, a RESO Certified member. "Adopting RESO standards for the Indian market will help Digital India leapfrog other countries and pave the way for fact based cognitive decision making. RMLS™ is Awarded RESO Data Dictionary Certification
PORTLAND, OR (August 10, 2015)—Regional Multiple Listing Service (RMLS™), the northwest's largest REALTOR®-owned multiple listing service, announced today that they are now in full compliance with the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) Data Dictionary version 1.3. RMLS™ is the fifth MLS in the United States to convert and certify against this rigorous set of standards. The RESO Data Dictionary has been dubbed the industry's 'Rosetta Stone' and serves as the real estate industry's standard for defining real estate listing data so that data gathered by hundreds of MLSs across the nation will eventually "speak" the same language" said Jeremy Crawford, Executive Director of RESO. Using a common standard will foster innovation and help create a "plug and play" environment, where REALTORS® could purchase software and use it with data from any MLS operating on the RESO standards. "Implementing a national set of data standards is vital to the real estate industry as a whole, saving time and money," RMLS™ President and CEO Kurt von Wasmuth said. "MLSs, vendors and other parties can develop single-product solutions that can be more easily implemented across the nation once more systems have been converted." About RMLS™ Regional Multiple Listing Service (RMLS™) is the northwest's largest REALTOR®-owned multiple listing service, serving approximately 11,800 real estate professionals in over 2,400 offices throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. RMLSweb, the RMLS™ database used by these REALTORS®, holds an archive of over 1.4 million real estate listings including around 25,700 active listings and over two million tax records. RMLS™ provides regional real estate data to REALTORS® and other parties through its monthly newsletter Market Action. About RESO Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) actively develops, adopts and implements open and accepted data standards and processes across all real estate transactions. RESO provides an environment for the development and implementation of data standards and processes that facilitate software innovation, ensures portability, eliminates redundancies and obtains maximum efficiencies for all parties participating in real estate transactions.

MRED Continues to Meet the Standards
LISLE, Ill., April 13, 2015 -- Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED), Chicagoland's multiple listing service (MLS), has announced that the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) has certified MRED for RESO Data Dictionary 1.3. RESO is an organization that develops, adopts and implements open and accepted data standards and processes across all real estate transactions and provide an environment for the development and implementation of data standards and processes. RESO's Data Dictionary serves as the real estate industry's "Rosetta Stone" for real estate data. While hundreds of MLSs and other source providers gather data, the Data Dictionary ensures that each system "speaks" the same language. As MLSs across the industry adopt RESO standards, the industry will move towards an environment where real estate software becomes plug-and-play. Realtors® will be able to purchase off the shelf software and it will plug into any MLS that has implemented RESO standards. This is quite different than the state of the industry today, where it is extremely hard for new software to be used from one market to the next. It will be easier for real estate professionals to use MLS data in the products that they choose. They will have better options and the data that flows through their systems will be more accurate because the Data Dictionary negates the need for translation from one system to the next. RESO standards give more options and control to Realtors®. MRED's commitment to RESO is evidenced by being its first Charter Member and its continued participation in and support of data standardization efforts. These efforts are important to MRED customers, the real estate industry in general, and the consumer. MRED and other organizations that maintain these standards can more easily exchange information without degrading or losing data, resulting in more accuracy and less cost. New applications and services are developed because there is a wider audience to offer them to. dynaConnections, MRED's MLS vendor, also has a strong commitment to RESO. As another Charter Member of the organization, dynaConnections dedicates significant resources and time to remain on the front line of RESO initiatives. Technologists from both MRED and dynaConnections have worked closely to attain not only the Data Dictionary 1.3 certification but also to maintain MRED's Real Estate Transaction Standard (RETS) Server certification. "We're proud supporters of RESO and firm believers in the long-term power in its mission," said dynaConnections CEO, Tim Ford. "The organization is making great strides towards bettering the industry, and we're happy to contribute in any way possible." "I have a deep commitment to RESO, having served as its Board Chair for four years," said MRED President and CEO Rebecca Jensen. "RESO is important to me and to MRED. We will continue to support the setting of standards, and the providing of data and tools needed to meet the demands of real estate professionals and consumers alike." SAFE Syndication will also offer additional features in the near future, including innovative ways to find and document unlicensed data uses.   SAFE Syndication will include integrations with industry technology platforms to improve efficiencies for mutual customers.   Clareity Security is pleased to announce that SAFE Syndication will soon be integrated with ListHub, the largest online syndicator of real estate listings to real estate web sites and provider of performance reports for brokers, franchises and MLSs.  This will ensure valuable data being collected and delivered on behalf of MLSs syndicating through ListHub will be integrated into the SAFE Syndication product.  ListHub Publisher Scorecards will also be accessible via SAFE Syndication, and both companies are working together on a method for watermarking syndicated MLS data and detecting its unauthorized use. “ListHub and Clareity Security offer complementary services that will help MLSs generate exposure for brokers and their listings while ensuring the appropriate use of their valuable content,” said Errol Samuelson, chief revenue officer of Move, Inc., operator of ListHub.  “We look forward to the continued expansion our suite of ListHub services to benefit both content providers and publishing sites.”   Gregg Larson, CEO of Clareity Security stated “Our customers have been asking us for a tool to help manage data leaving the MLS system for some time.  We had the idea for SAFE Syndication two years ago, but the market didn’t seem quite ready.  We now have a product that meets the demand for improved oversight and management of listings after they are distributed from the MLS system   Larson continued, “the greatest part of SAFE Syndication is that it is easy to implement and does not require any changes to existing business systems or processes by MLSs or brokers.  It simply complements and improves upon the listing distribution infrastructure in place today.”   Clareity Security will be providing overviews of SAFE Syndication™ at the NAR Midyear convention in Washington D.C. on May 10-13, 2011.   About Clareity Security: Clareity Security, located in Scottsdale, AZ is the leading provider of security products and services for the real estate industry.
