Housing everything one wants to know about how RPR can support a thriving real estate business, the responsive system allows users to self direct their experience by selecting topics and learning types they find most relevant. From micro-learning (shorter, easily consumable quick start guides) and macro-learning (deeper mastery of a subject or skill by way of an eBook or webinar), to spaced-learning (courses broken into sections with quick video tutorials arranged by topic). Here's how: Agent Sue wants to learn to identify and target a farm area but doesn't want to sit through a webinar. She simply chooses Agent (audience), then Farming (topic), and finally Tutorials (learning type) to reveal a five-minute video on how to perform her calculations using RPR. Agent Bob is interested in the same topic but prefers instructor-led learning. He follows a similar path but then chooses Webinars as his Learning Type. Agent Kate has a last-minute CMA to run so her Learning Type is RPR's downloadable Quick Start Guide with step-by-step instructions. With two dozen topics to choose from –– Getting Started, Open Houses, Listing Presentations, and the RPR app, as well as a host of materials for other industry segments –– there's no shortage of how far REALTORS® can go with RPR's new learning center. RPR Announces Retirement of CEO, Appointment of New Leader
CHICAGO (April 12, 2018) — Realtors Property Resource® LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Association of Realtors®, announced that its founding CEO Dale Ross will be retiring as of May 1, 2018. RPR's Jeff Young has been named chief operating officer/general manager and will assume responsibility for all RPR activities, reporting directly to NAR CEO Bob Goldberg. "I would like to express my appreciation to Dale Ross for his achievements as CEO. During the last eight years Dale has built an incredible and highly skilled team. Under Dale's leadership, RPR has not only fulfilled its original mission to create a high-value member benefit for NAR's 1.3 million members, but has led RPR to be one of the premier real estate databases in the industry," said NAR CEO Bob Goldberg. "On behalf of NAR's leadership team and membership, we would like to thank him for his service and dedication." Ross began his tenure with RPR in 2008 as the chairman of the original advisory council, which was formed to create a proof of concept for RPR as part of NAR's second century initiatives. In 2009, Ross led the formation of RPR, followed by the launch of its national database in 2010. Since that time, RPR has expanded its parcel-centric database to include over 95 percent of the active listing data in the U.S. The RPR web- and mobile-based applications are an exclusive member benefit to NAR's 1.3 million Realtors®. Young joined NAR in 2008, as vice president with the Realtors® Information Network, to oversee the creation and implementation of RPR's original proof-of-concept model. In 2009, he joined the newly formed RPR, LLC as senior vice president. Young was promoted to COO in 2015 where his responsibilities were expanded to oversee all non-development components of RPR's national delivery, including RPR's broker, commercial, association and multiple listing service programs, training, customer support, marketing, budget and administrative systems. In his expanded role as general manager, Young will focus on creating a more dynamic culture and increased synergies across RPR, as well as more closely aligning RPR's mission with NAR's strategic plans for 2018 and beyond, while creating further cost efficiencies throughout the organization. "This is a very positive direction for RPR and represents my expectation that RPR focus on optimizing its structure, allowing it to see increased efficiencies, while meeting its budgetary targets, as part of NAR's overall organizational realignment," said Goldberg. The National Association of Realtors® is America's largest trade association, representing 1.3 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

Overall engagement among NAR members for the month of March 2018 soared to a record 178,000 - a notable 16 percent increase from March 2017. As one of the platform's key performance indicators, RPR measures usage among several categories, from the number of individual sessions and new website visitors to account creations and webinar registrations. RPR webinars witnessed a 135 percent increase in registrations; the average attendance per webinar increased by 158 percent. The number of newly-created accounts in the first quarter also tipped the scales with more than 18,000 Realtors® registering for the platform. RPR Mobile™, the flagship of the platform's "anytime, anywhere" offerings, also experienced significant growth in the first quarter of 2018 with app downloads exceeding 402,000 by Realtors® nationwide. See What's New in RPR for Agents, Practitioners and Brokers
RPR's new Comps Analysis Express for Mobile continues to grow. This month the feature, previously offered on smartphones only, expands to tablet. Also, if you've ever wondered whether a client has viewed your emailed RPR report, good news is here. Also, don't miss enhancements to various report options and mapping tools. It's a quick read and well worth it. Overall Website Enhancements Track client views of emailed reports Wondering if your client has opened the RPR report you recently emailed? An enhancement to RPR's report functionality tracks when the last person on your distribution list viewed the report. To view the Report Detail dialog, click on the orange plus sign on previously generated reports and start tracking your client's report activity. Option to suppress energy data component A new option allows users to include or exclude the home energy data on Property and Seller's reports. Improved mapping tools A new mapping tool bar slightly modifies how you navigate this RPR feature. We've also restored the radius search tooltip that displays the radius size as the user draws on a map. Report email notifications made more visually appealing The addition of the report cover page image on report email notifications provides recipients a glimpse of the report that has been shared and will serve as an incentive to view the details. Additional Ranges on number of homes sold charts The Homes Sold charts have been enhanced to include additional ranges that break down the price point market movement so users can fully understand their market's story. RPR Mobile New Tools Comp Analysis Express Enhancements and Tablet Offering RPR's Comp Analysis Express on smartphones now delivers more control when searching for comps. Enhancements include an interactive map to choose comps, advanced search functions such as property status and type, improved sorting capability on search results, and a Sold Price displays next to Sold Date so users don't have to scroll down to Prior Sales Transactions on off-market listings. Also, Comp Analysis Express is now available on RPR Mobile for iOS and Android tablets. For Commercial Practitioners New Trade Area Report options Users can now draw a custom map to define market areas for Commercial Trade Area Reports. The new functionality allows users to base a report on a collection of geographies (census tracts, ZIP codes, cities, etc.) and works the same as with the Economic Area Reports, in which a custom-drawn area "rubber bands" the selected geographies to aggregate data. As a special feature for Commercial Practitioners, a search radius of up to five miles or a drive-time search of up to 15 minutes can be used to create the Trade Area Report. And the Trade Area Report cover page includes the custom area name and geography shape. Added Mortgage Records and Distressed Info Property mortgage and distressed information is now displayed in Commercial Property Reports in addition to Property Details. When available, the new data includes mortgage contract date, loan type, borrower name, amount, interest and more. For Brokers Run Company Reports from the Broker Admin Tab Broker staff with access to RPR's Data Tools can execute their own Company Reports, formerly known as service module reports. The new functionality helps broker staff identify issues with MLS offices that are organized into RPR offices or with the service modules configuration. HomeDisclosure.com Adds 'Death in Home' Data to Website
IRVINE, Calif. – Aug. 23, 2016 — ATTOM Data Solutions, the nation's leading source for comprehensive property data, today announced that its pre-diligence website, www.HomeDisclosure.com, has added a new feature that allows consumers to search any valid U.S. address to find out if someone has ever died at an address. The "Death in Home" report will contain a list of deaths that have occurred at an address whether they were by murder, suicide, accidental or natural. "Consumers want as much due diligence information as possible before buying or renting a home," said Sean Mooney, Senior Director of Product and User Experience. "During our Beta period for HomeDisclosure.com we learned that our customers wanted to know if someone had died in a home before buying or renting it. Not every state requires a death in the home to be disclosed by a seller, but it's clear that consumers want this information available earlier in the sales process to help them make a better decision, which may include negotiating a discount off the asking price." Sample Death in Home property details page Sample Death in Home details In most states, the death in a home — no matter how it occurred — is not considered a material fact, so it's not required to be disclosed in writing. Only California, Alaska and South Dakota require home sellers to reveal that information to all potential buyers in written disclosures. In California, sellers must reveal if a death in the home has occurred anytime in the past three years, including death by natural causes. In Alaska and South Dakota, only murders and suicides must be disclosed if they happened within the past year. According to DiedInHouse.com, a death in the home could decrease the market value up to 25 percent. In addition to the new "Death in Home" feature, HomeDisclosure also provides consumers with over 42 categories of home and neighborhood data — including addresses of nearby registered offenders and former meth labs, natural hazard risks, environmental hazard risks, crime ratings, school test scores, median income, underground natural gas storage facilities and much more hyper-local data. View sample report. ATTOM Data Solutions created Home Disclosure using public record real estate data (sales deed, mortgage, tax and foreclosure data), along with neighborhood risk data. The result is a very compelling property report, packaged within a convenient mobile-first user interface specifically designed for real estate professionals or consumers who are performing pro-active, pre-diligence on a home — whether they are looking at that home for purchase or rental, or whether they already own or rent the home. HomeDisclosure.com has been recognized by many industry professionals as the most comprehensive, property pre-diligence property report available today. The site has processed over 120,000 property reports for its 60,000 members since its launch on January 26, 2016. About ATTOM Data Solutions ATTOM Data Solutions is the curator of the ATTOM Data Warehouse, a multi-sourced national property database that aggregates property tax, deed, mortgage, foreclosure, environmental risk, natural hazard, health hazards, neighborhood characteristics and other property characteristic data for more than 150 million U.S. properties. RealtyTrac Unveils New Multi-Sourced National Property Data Warehouse Covering 99 Percent of U.S. Population
IRVINE, Calif. - July 19, 2016 — RealtyTrac®, the nation's leading source for comprehensive property data, today unveiled a new multi-sourced national property database named the ATTOM Data Warehouse that will be curated by ATTOM Data Solutions, a newly created parent company operating a rapidly expanding property data licensing business along with existing consumer websites RealtyTrac.com, Homefacts.com and HomeDisclosure.com. The new ATTOM Data Warehouse features enhanced and standardized data for more than 150 million U.S. property parcels — representing an expanded footprint that covers 99 percent of the U.S. population. View ATTOM tax assessor coverage heat map and ATTOM sales deed & mortgage coverage heat map. The enhanced data warehouse is more than 9 terabytes and contains 13.9 billion rows of data and more than 6,000 discrete data attributes. Data available includes current and historical property tax assessor information, deed, mortgage, foreclosure, environmental risk, natural hazard, health hazard, neighborhood characteristics, and other property characteristics — all mapped to a unique ATTOM ID for each property. "The new ATTOM ID is an innovation long-overdue in the real estate data industry, linking all property-centric data from myriad sources to one unique parcel identifier, and it's just one example of how the new ATTOM Data Warehouse creates value for our customers and elevates our industry," said Rob Barber, CEO at ATTOM Data Solutions. "Under the new ATTOM Data Solutions brand, our mission as a company will continue to be increasing real estate transparency for businesses and consumers. That mission will be carried out in a variety of venues, including bulk file licenses, APIs and customized reports, along with our increasingly popular consumer websites." ATTOMIZED data: fast, flexible, never forgets Construction of the ATTOM Data Warehouse kicked off in 2015 with the addition of newly sourced tax, deed and mortgage data creating a full, national public record footprint. This newly aggregated data — along with an ongoing integration of more than 40 categories of neighborhood and parcel risk data — prompted the development of an innovative data warehouse solution. "The ATTOM Data Warehouse delivers data to our customers in an exponentially more efficient and flexible format than standard industry solutions that employ decades-old technology," said Richard Lombardi, EVP and GM at ATTOM Data Solutions. "Along with the unique ATTOM ID, innovations we've built into the new ATTOM Data Warehouse include its modularity — giving our clients the ability to pick and choose only the data they need for their business rather than having to ingest an entire massive database in a one-size-fits-all approach — and its ability to never forget vital snapshots of the data at any given point in time." ATTOM an early adopter of latest Microsoft cloud-computing technology Microsoft is featuring ATTOM Data Solutions on its customer stories website as an early adopter of SQL Server 2016 in its cloud computing environment, Azure. "As an early adopter of SQL Server 2016 and Azure, ATTOM Data Solutions is setting a high bar for the real estate data industry," said Tiffany Wissner, Senior Director, Microsoft Corp. "ATTOM will be able to take advantage of the unparalleled performance and scale of SQL Server 2016 as well as higher availability and faster disaster recovery using Azure as part of their solution." The Microsoft technology supplies the ATTOM Data Warehouse with virtually unlimited horsepower when fulfilling customer requests, according to Richard Sawicky, chief data officer at ATTOM Data Solutions. "Processes that ran 24 hours on our old platform came back in less than three hours," he said. "The ability to generate the files much faster, and apply updates more quickly has definitely increased our ability to serve more complicated data sets." Customer innovation story: data fueling predictive analytics for investors The ATTOM Data Warehouse fuels predictive analytics and machine learning developed by Audantic, a Seattle-based company that provides top-tier real estate investors — those typically purchasing about 100 homes a year — with marketing lists of homeowners likely to sell. "We've tried to source national property data from many places, and the ATTOM Data Warehouse is head and shoulders above the rest," said Franklin Sarkett, CTO of Audantic, which has grown from just two clients in 2014 to now having clients in more than 200 counties. "Without the data we wouldn't have a business." ATTOM's high-quality data that is easy to ingest has been key for Audantic's meteoric growth and 95 percent client retention rate, according to Sarkett, who previously worked as a data scientist at Facebook. "When we're creating machine learning models, the better the data is, the more predictive the result is. If we're feeding in bad data or inconsistent data or incomplete data ... when we go to do the actual marketing it doesn't work," he said, noting the ATTOM data fed through Audantic's predictive models have produced improved results for clients. "We can eliminate 80 percent of the population and we can double or triple their results." About ATTOM Data Solutions ATTOM Data Solutions is the curator of the ATTOM Data Warehouse, a multi-sourced national property database that aggregates property tax, deed, mortgage, foreclosure, environmental risk, natural hazard, health hazards, neighborhood characteristics and other property characteristic data for more than 150 million U.S. properties. The website is available now; RPR mobile™ for Android and iOS are coming soon. Watch the Play and Apple stores for your updated app! Let's take a closer look at these changes. RPR mobile™ RPR mobile™ now includes a School Search via our Advanced Search function. Search for schools within an area or a school district, then find properties within that school's attendance zone, or view a school's Great Schools rating, see the phone number of the school, and even press the address of the school to access your GPS for directions. Searching solely for elementary schools? School Search allows you to search by elementary, middle or high schools. The search defaults to a five-mile radius from your current location, but you can make any adjustments you need, including filtering and sorting schools. RPR Residential Redesigned Homepage The first change you'll see when logging into RPR, is our redesigned homepage. Fresher design and navigation. Recent properties, searches, reports, and even your notes on properties are all available for quick reference on the homepage. Comp Analysis – Choice of a preferred property photo In our last release, we gave REALTORS® the ability to choose which version of a property to include in a Comp Analysis. In this release, REALTORS® can also choose which photo as the main photo in the Comp Analysis. Any photo that exists within RPR on a property can be the photo used for a comp to show on a report. Looking to feature that spectacular view of the mountains instead of the outside of the house? No problem. Want to highlight the backyard and pool? Simply select that photo to be included. Toggle through to the property record, and then choose the desired photo from that record. This and That Other enhancements and fixes in this release include: Maponics Updates: The boundaries that RPR uses for ZIP codes, neighborhoods, schools and other areas are provided by data partner Maponics. The boundary data throughout RPR and RPR mobile™ has been updated, reflecting changes and current information for geographies nationwide, which improves your search experience and accuracy of search results. Public Records Data: We upgraded the process we use for receiving and managing public records data, which includes sales data, mortgage information, tax assessments and distressed notices. The result is a faster, more efficient and more accurate processing of new data. We will be working to add new public records facts, like basement square footage, after completing this project. Coming Soon Here are a few of the exciting things we're working on for RPR in our upcoming releases: A one-page Property Flyer to use for marketing Ability to upload your own photos to display on your report covers Walkability Scores added to property and neighborhood pages and reports If you want more help finding or using anything in RPR, please visit http://blog.narrpr.com/training, where we have webinars you can register for, and on-demand learning you can take advantage of. The new app integrates mobile, social and location-based technologies and enables users with the following functionality: Conveniently find homes for sale, foreclosures, recently sold and off-market homes in a mobile environment via an interactive map search or list search. Take a photo of any home to view relevant details such as listing status, market value and foreclosure information. Identify homes while driving through a neighborhood or relaxing on the couch leveraging GPS technology. Easily refine the search at any time based on price range, square footage, property type, foreclosure and listing status, year built, equity, lender name, auction date, and bankruptcy status. Save homes and recent searches with access across platforms on the web or mobile device. Set up alerts when a saved home changes status or when new properties hit the market in preferred areas. Share homes via Facebook and Twitter. Connect with local real estate agents regarding specific properties. Much of the property information available through the app is free for all users, and additional information is available for RealtyTrac subscribers, who can simply log in on the app to access the full premium content. Scott Louser Uses RPR to Educate The North Dakota House of Representatives
Scott Louser uses RPR to educate the North Dakota House of Representatives Scott Louser has been very involved in real estate for the past 17 years. From serving as the 2005 President of the North Dakota Association of REALTORS®, to being the 2012 Vice President and Liaison of Government Affairs for NAR, Scott has seen his fair share of technology and initiatives. What makes Scott unique is that he is also a member of the House of Representatives in North Dakota. He represents District 5 and is up for reelection this year, which makes knowing his constituency and their issues paramount. The Challenge North Dakota is a state unlike any other; they do not have voter registration. Not knowing exactly who the voters are in a district in North Dakota affects not only elections, but can impact the debate of a bill. For example, when the legislature is debating a bill that affects homeownership, oftentimes they are doing so without truly knowing who the voters are. Do they own homes, or are they renters? What is their economic status? What is their education level? Without knowing this, it can be harder for legislators to anticipate how a particular bill will affect their district. The Result Because Scott is not only a legislator, but a REALTOR® as well, he can leverage RPR's data and reports to help him and his colleagues understand their district. Created for Associations and their volunteer staff, such as FPC's, the RPR Dashboard reports offer a window into demographics and consumer behavior in an area. With the RPR Dashboard, Scott can create Federal and Local Economic Reports at a state, district or even more local level like city council, mayor or school district race. The data provided in these reports "is something that's going to be valuable where politics hits home the most, all the way up to the congressional level," says Scott. One of the most powerful aspects of the Local Economic Reports is the REALTOR® branding that each report can be customized with. "We can take our member benefit and provide that to a legislator and do so with our REALTOR® brand and really reinforce that REALTOR® image with Congress and the State Legislature." Through these reports, REALTORS® are reinforcing their relevance to the industry. "We beat everyone else to the punch with these reports. You will not find this anywhere else." MyRPR User Story: Raphael Barta, REALTOR®
Using RPR® to search areas in three different states, Raphael Barta was able to help his clients successfully relocate West. Raphael Barta is a REALTOR® in Sandpoint, Idaho. Although he's been a REALTOR® for thirteen years, he has been a real estate developer for about 30 years. His real estate development background focused on resort communities, which lead Raphael to Sandpoint, Idaho. It lies along the shore of Idaho's largest lake, Lake Pend Oreille, and is home to large ski resorts. Many of the clients Raphael works with are looking to drastically change their lifestyle by moving out of a city and relocate to a resort community The Challenge Raphael recently had a young family from Wisconsin that wanted to relocate to the West. They were considering Colorado, Montana and Idaho. Sandpoint is not as well known an area as Aspen or Vail, or other famous resort destinations, so Raphael had to give the family information to be able to compare Sandpoint to those more recognizable places. They were looking for information on schools, recreational activities, job prospects, demographics, etc. Raphael needed a source he could go to, not only to get all this information, but a way to easily put it together for his clients. The Result Using RPR to search each of the three areas the family was interested in, Raphael created reports and spreadsheets to show his clients how far their dollar would stretch in each area. He was then able to help the family narrow their search down to Idaho and helped them close on a new home. "It's like I belong to 25 MLSs for resort communities," Raphael says when talking about the value of RPR. He can use RPR to tell clients how much a 4-bedroom, 2-bath resort home in Utah, Colorado, Montana or other resorts areas cost. But beyond that, Raphael can also educate clients on the schools, and other nearby points of interest by using RPR. "I'm able to access housing market details, in real time, for active listings in a wide range in other states. Previously, this was not possible in our business without RPR." MyRPR User Story: Pam Ruggeroli, REALTOR®
Pam Ruggeroli is a REALTOR® with Long Realty Company in Tucson, Arizona. Like many other REALTORS®, she has different tools in her arsenal that she uses when working with different clients. From her MLS CMA, to her favorite feature in RPR: the Comp Analysis, Pam prides her self on providing a detailed and thorough package with everyone she works with. The Challenge In Pam’s particular Tucson market, there are a lot of distressed properties. She works with clients when they need to short sell their home, or are looking to buy a distressed property. Recently, Pam presented a bank a short sale offer for one of her clients. The bank sent back a counter offer with a price that was much higher than what Pam felt the property was worth. Pam wanted a fair price for the property and knew she needed to provide as much documentation as possible to reverse the bank’s decision. The Result By using RPR as a resource, Pam created an RPR Market Activity report, and along with her MLS CMA, submitted it to the Value Dispute department of the bank. After reviewing her documentation, the bank reversed its decision and went with Pam’s proposed value. “I truly believe that if I had just used the CMA out of our MLS, it wouldn’t have carried as much weight without the RPR report to back it up,” Pam says. The RPR platform has become a foundational tool for valuating properties for Pam. Finding the right comps for a property, easily refining the value of a home, and the comprehensive reports are just a few of the features Pam uses on a daily basis in her business. Pam believes more REALTORS® need to be using RPR. “It amazes me as I travel across the country and I meet other agents, both local, state-wide and nationally, how many of our members don’t even realize RPR is available to them. It’s a free tool and is invaluable to them and their clients.” To view the original post, visit the RPR blog.
